Abstract
Sistem perpipaan bertekanan tinggi pada industri minyak dan gas menuntut kualitas sambungan las yang optimal. Pipa Carbon Steel ASTM A106 Grade B merupakan material standar yang rentan mengalami cacat pengelasan akibat parameter arus yang tidak terkontrol, namun karakteristik cacat lasnya pada posisi 1G belum terdokumentasi secara komprehensif. Penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh variasi arus pengelasan GTAW (80A–130A) terhadap jenis, ukuran, dan distribusi cacat pada sambungan butt joint pipa ASTM A106 Grade B posisi 1G,
terfokus pada cacat internal berupa porosity, lack of fusion, dan incomplete penetration. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimental dengan teknik pengelasan multi-pass (root, hot, filler, capping pass) menggunakan elektroda
BOHLER ER 70S-6, diinspeksi menggunakan Radiography Testing sesuai standar ASME Section V dan ASME B31.3. Penelitian ini diharapkan menghasilkan rekomendasi rentang arus optimal untuk setiap lapisan pengelasan guna meminimalkan cacat sambungan las pipa bertekanan tinggi di industri.
